The Lynn Hip Hop Museum
Project Background
The Lynn Hip Hop Wall of Fame was established in 2020 to create a mural project commemorating Hip Hop culture in the city.
Hip Hop in Lynn has been a haven for artists to express themselves and has given them a platform to display their talents to the community. Through the hard work of the board of directors and its collaborators we’ve been able to put a mural project together, documentary, museum exhibit, festival, and panel discussions surrounding Lynn Hip Hop. Through discussions, the idea of the Lynn Hip Hop Exhibit was born and is meant to celebrate the culture that spans over three decades. The exhibit features bits of history, culture, and interactive elements to create a place to get to know and support local artists.
The exhibit was put together by Edwin Cabrera of Grind House with the help of his business partner and co-founder Chris Martin (“CRITTA”). The pieces are contributions from artists and community organizers who have supported and took part in Lynn’s Hip Hop culture.
